The mission of the Academic Success Center is to promote student learning and to provide access and comprehensive support for students as they pursue their academic goals. Our mission is carried out through services such as tutoring, teaching, mentoring, accommodating, and test proctoring as we partner with students, faculty, and staff.

 

Disability Accommodations:

CIU provides accommodations according to the ADA and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act for students with documented disabilities.  Students who believe they would qualify and would like to apply for accommodations should contact the Academic Success Center.  Follow the link here to the Disability Resources for additional information.

Academic Coaching

Academic Coaching is an individual weekly appointment with a coach. Coaching sessions can focus on accountability, academic needs, time management, etc. Coaching appointments are arranged through the Academic Success Center.

  A native New Yorker, Mrs. Lanpher and her husband have served in Minnesota, the Philippines, and Florida before coming to 
  CIU in 2011. Mrs. Lanpher has a B.A. from The King's College in NY, and a Master of Education from the University of South
  Florida.

  ASC Assistant Director:  Marlo Brayboy
 
  Dr. Brayboy grew up in Manning, South Carolina and currently lives in Lexington with his wife. He is a retired veteran of the
  U.S. Army. Dr. Brayboy is an alumnus of CIU, having earned his bachelor's degree in Bible and General Studies, a master's in
  Ministry Studies, and a doctoral degree in Ministerial Leadership.
