The mission of the Academic Success Center is to promote student learning and to provide access and comprehensive support for students as they pursue their academic goals. Our mission is carried out through services such as tutoring, teaching, mentoring, accommodating, and test proctoring as we partner with students, faculty, and staff.

Peer Tutoring

Peer Tutoring services are available to ALL CIU students, undergraduate and graduate, free of cost.  The purpose of Peer Tutors is to help students reach their academic potential to improve their academic performance in order to become independent learners. If you want to improve your grades, tutors are a great way to start!
 
Peer Tutors will be available for different courses and areas of expertise. The Academic Success Center is providing virtual and face-to-face options for tutoring. Click here to find the right Peer Tutor.
 

Academic Coaching

Academic Coaching is an individual weekly appointment with a coach.  Coaching sessions can focus on accountability, academic needs, time management, etc.  Coaching appointments are arranged through the Academic Success Center.

Accommodations for Students with Disabilities

CIU provides accommodations according to the ADA and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act for students with documented disabilities.  Students who believe they would qualify and would like to apply for accommodations should contact the Academic Success Center.  Follow the link here to the Disability Resources for additional information.

  Marlo Brayboy, originally from Manning, South Carolina, lives in Lexington with his wife. Marlo is retired Army. He completed his Bachelors in Bible and General Studies, Master's in Ministry Studies and currently pursuing his doctorate in Ministerial Leadership. All from CIU.
