Study and Discussion Groups

The "How To" Study Group -- this study group teaches you specific strategies for study and preparing for exams.  Group leaders are knowledgeable about core classes and can give you course specific strategies for academic success.

    Discussion groups -- Offered for a variety of courses that are process oriented and where learners benefit from discussion to master course material.
 *Discussion group topics vary from semester to semester, depending on the course offerings. Check out the online and posted schedules for specific offerings each semester.


Tutoring services are available to ALL CIU students, undergraduate and graduate.  If you want to improve your grades, tutors are a great way to start!
Beginning 5/6/19, tutors will be available for different courses and areas of expertise. Click here to find the right tutor.

Academic Coaching

Academic Coaching is an individual weekly appointment with a coach.  Coaching sessions can focus on accountability, academic needs, time management, etc.  Coaching appointments are arranged through the Academic Success Center.

Accommodations for Students with Disabilities

CIU provides accommodations according to the ADA and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act for students with documented disabilities.  Students who believe they would qualify and would like to apply for accommodations should contact the Academic Success Center.  Follow the link to the Disability Resources for additional information.

         Photo of Ariana Copeland  Ariana Copeland, originally from DeQueen, AR, lives in Columbia with her husband, who serves on staff at CIU. Ariana has completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Bible at CIU. She's continuing on to get a Master's of Arts in Clinical Counseling.
