Study and Discussion Groups

The "How To" Study Group -- this study group teaches you specific strategies for study and preparing for exams.  Group leaders are knowledgeable about core classes and can give you course specific strategies for academic success.
 
    Discussion groups -- Offered for a variety of courses that are process oriented and where learners benefit from discussion to master course material.
 
 *Discussion group topics vary from semester to semester, depending on the course offerings. Check out the online and posted schedules for specific offerings each semester.

Tutoring

Tutoring services are available to ALL CIU students, undergraduate and graduate.  Tutors are available for scheduling, reviewing papers, test preparation, projects, etc.  If you need academic support, the tutors are the best place to turn.

Tutoring in specific courses is available.  In addition to general assistance, each tutor has areas of expertise.  Check the posted and online schedules each semester for a listing of expert areas available each semester.

Academic Coaching

Academic Coaching is an individual weekly appointment with a coach.  Coaching sessions can focus on accountability, academic needs, time management, etc.  Coaching appointments are arranged through the Academic Success Center.

Mock Exams and Study Resources

Mock Exams for Old Testament and New Testament and additional study resources on a variety of topics are available in the ASC and the Learning Center.

Accommodations for Students with Disabilities

CIU provides accommodations according to the ADA and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act for students with documented disabilities.  Students who believe they would qualify and would like to apply for accommodations should contact the Academic Success Center.  Follow the link to the Disability Resources for additional information.

Mrs. Lanpher has a B.A. from The King's College in NY, and a Master of Education from the University of South Florida.  

A native New Yorker, she and her husband have served in Minnesota, Manila and Florida before coming to CIU in 2011.

                          RebekaLewis hails from Charleston, SC and has completed a degree in Intercultural Studies and Bible at CIU. She is currently enrolled in the Masters of Arts-TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) program.
