Position Purpose:
The director of strategy and discipleship stewards the church’s vision of “Building a church God uses to restore people by leading them in a flourishing relationship with Jesus Christ.” This role collaborates with executive leadership to translate vision into ministry strategy and support the mission across congregational life.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Interpret mission into actionable ministry strategy
• Ensure alignment with Reformed theology and ECO Essential Tenets
• Serve as a connector across ministry areas
• Oversee the discipleship pathway: Invitation → Formation → Restoration → Multiplication
• Establish indicators of spiritual flourishing and provide progress reports
• Equip, train, and empower staff and lay leaders
• Provide occasional preaching and contribute to teaching environments
Skills and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Deep alignment with Reformed theology and ECO Essential Tenets
• Leadership experience in ministry strategy, systems thinking, and discipleship
• Effective communication and teaching abilities
• Willingness to pursue or complete ECO Commissioned Lay Pastor training
• Three years of experience in program leadership for a religious affiliated organization
Work Schedule and Details:
• Salaried position with benefits
• 40+ hours per week
• Includes Sundays and Christian holidays
