What brought you to CIU?
I transferred from North Greenville University to CIU as an incoming sophomore. I really liked the idea of a smaller campus with a close-knit community, as well as the emphasis on holistic and Biblically-centered curriculum.
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
New Zealand because it’s beautiful.
What did you eat for breakfast? Turkey sausage.
Word of advice for new, incoming students?
Embrace the community and choose right now to be presently focused- not dwelling on the regrets of yesterday or worrying about tomorrow, but communing with God and fellowshipping with others in each present moment. Also, don’t allow yourself to fall into the box of other people’s expectations, but be intentionally authentic. God has uniquely designed you and He is calling forth your destiny. Abide in Him and let Him call forth the potential He has placed within you. Part of living authentically is good communication- do it honestly and graciously. And when life gets tough (and trust me, it will), don’t be afraid to ask for help. There are people who are eagerly waiting to love and care for you, but you have to take that first step of faith and seek them out.
