Accepted students will receive enhanced access to and a CIU email (Student Webmail) account after March 1 for new Fall students and after November 1 for new Spring and Summer students. Students will be notified of this change by the Registrar's Office.
The CIU email will be the official method of communication between CIU and the student. To Access CIU email, select Student Webmail under the Quick Links. This will open a Gmail log-in page, where the student will enter the full email address ( and password.

The enrollment deposit of $100 reserves the students enrollment and is applied toward the first semester's tuition. Deposit may be paid to Student Accounting.
Students applying for financial aid should follow the applicable steps. Review and accept the Financial Aid Award in My Financial Aid under the Quick Links when all necessary documents have been received. Financial Aid Office:, (803) 807-5036.
Each student attending class on campus must submit a health form before enrolling in classes.
Students are required to have health insurance when enrolled at CIU. Students may provide proof of health insurance when registering for classes or enroll in health insurance provided by CIU. Students not wishing to purchase health insurance through CIU must submit personal insurance information online and provide copies of their insurance cards to Health Services to avoid insurance charges.
Admitted students will receive notification from their Enrollment Counselor concerning the dates for Connect:CIU (new student orientation). Students must also provide emergency contact information.
A $100 housing deposit is required to live in the Residence Halls along with a completed New Student Housing Survey. Deposit may be paid to Student Accounting.
New Seminary and Graduate students must be cleared by their advisor to register. New undergraduate students will meet with their advisor and register for courses at Connect:CIU (new student orientation).
Textbooks may be purchased at the online marketplace once the student is registered for classes.
The Academic Success Center offers tutoring, academic coaching, and study groups as well as coordinates the provision of reasonable accommodations for qualified students with disabilities. Students needing accommodations should contact their Enrollment Counselor or the Academic Success Center prior to starting classes.
